Defense Passed!

The Spring Break at Lesley was busy for the doctoral program. 
Steven Durost was the third candidate to pass his doctoral defense! 
His chair was Dr. Robyn Cruz and his title was 
"Old is an Attitude - Age is a Concept: 
A Qualitative Study on Aging and Ageism with Guidelines for Expressive Therapies Literature."

Doctoral Student Update

Congratulations to our students who have been hard at work!

Sangeeta Swamy has an article in the Fall/Winter issue of Music Therapy Perspectives. 
It is titled "No, She Doesn't Know Anything About Cultural Differences!: 
Culturally Centered Music Therapy Supervision.


Krystal Demaine presented a poster at "Crossing the Corpus Collosum II: Neuroscience, Healing and Music" which was held at Harvard University in February. The poster documents the research for her pilot study.

Craig Haen has a new book coming out!

The book is titled Engaging Boys in Treatment: Creative Approaches to the Therapy Process. Lesley faculty John Bergman and Lesley Master's alum Jason Cruz both have chapters in Craig's book. You can find it on Amazon.com. 

Rachel Brandoff gave a lecture as part of the invited guest lecture series in the graduate art therapy program at New York University. She spoke about death education in art therapy training.  Rachel is once again involved in the 2011 Expressive Therapies Summit in NYC. Expressive Therapies Summit
